Please prepare 32-bars of a song and have acontrasting selection ready, if asked. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Be prepared to stay and dance, if asked. Accompanist provided. Also, please prepare Sides which will be emailed in advance and hardcopies will also be provided at the audition.

Visually impaired performers may request an advance copy of the Sides when making an audition appointment. Also, please bring 2 copies of your picture and resumé, stapled together back-to-back.

SYNOPSIS: Cabaret – is set in Berlin during the final years of the Weimar Republic, as the rise of the Nazi regime looms in the background. The story follows American writer Cliff Bradshaw, who arrives in Berlin and becomes involved with Sally Bowles, a carefree and ambitious cabaret singer performing at the seedy Kit Kat Club. There, the mysterious Emcee presides over decadent performances that both entertain and eerily mirror the growing political unrest outside. As Cliff and Sally’s relationship unfolds, a secondary romance develops between Fraulein Schneider, a boardinghouse owner, and Herr Schultz, a kind Jewish fruit seller. Their hopeful love story is ultimately shattered by the increasing influence of Nazism. Throughout the musical, the carefree, indulgent world of the cabaret gradually gives way to fear and oppression. By the end, the characters are forced to confront the harsh reality that ignoring political change has devastating consequences.

FRAULEIN SCHNEIDER – CAST – Alto / mezzo G3 – C5 – Older landlady with a pragmatic worldview. Requires strong acting and emotional depth.

HERR SCHULTZ – CAST – Baritone – Elderly Jewish fruit shop owner, kind, optimistic, and tragic.

ERNST LUDWIG – CAST – Baritone – Charming but sinister political figure often played with subtle menace.

EMCEE – CAST – Tenor C3-G4 - The host of the Kit Kat Klub charismatic, seductive, and unsettling. Requires strong movement and improvisational ability.

SALLY BOWLES – CAST – Mezzo A3-D5 - British cabaret singer living in Berlin. Flirtatious, reckless, and emotionally fragile.

CLIFFORD BEADSHAW – CAST - American writer and observer of events. Romantic lead opposite Sally. Often a light-singing or non-singing role

FRAULEIN COST – CAST – Mezzo A3-Eb5 - Boarding house resident with questionable morals. Brash and bold personality.

KIT KAT GIRLS – CAST – Mezzo / belt – Roles: Rosie, Lulu, Frenchie, Texas, Fritzie, Helga – Strong dancers. Vocals can be stylized or raw.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Nazi regime threatened to destroy their careers, friendships, and lives. Filled with soaring harmonies, humor, romance, and heartbreaking drama, Harmony celebrates the power of music, love, and the resilience of the human spirit.

SEEKING:

RABBI (Josef Roman Cycowski) – Male, 65-70, High Baritone/Tenor (G2-F4). The heart and conscience of the story. An older survivor who narrates the events of the Comedian Harmonists' rise and fall. Warm, thoughtful, and deeply emotional. Rabbi also doubles as Einstein and Strauss.

YOUNG RABBI – Male, 20s-30s, High Baritone (C3-A4). Rabbi as a young member of the Harmonists. Kind, loyal, and devoted to Mary. Strong harmony singer, good dancer.

HARRY FROMMERMANN – Male, late 20s-30s Tenor (E3-D5). Founder and visionary behind the Comedian Harmonists. Energetic, ambitious, eccentric, and relentlessly driven. Strong harmony singer, good dancer.

BOBBY BIBERTI – Male, 20s-40s, Bass/Baritone. The bass singer of the group. Intelligent, practical, and often skeptical. A grounding force among the six men. Strong harmony singer, good dancer.

ERICH COLLIN – Male, 20s-40s, Lyric Tenor. Charming and romantic. One of the Jewish members of the ensemble. Often serves as an optimist. Strong harmony singer, good dancer.

ERWIN “CHOPIN” BOOTZ – Male, 20s-40s, Tenor/Baritone. The pianist and comic member of the group. Witty, playful, and highly theatrical. Strong harmony singer, good dancer.

ARI “LESH” LEASHNIKOFF – Male, 20s-40s, Tenor. The flamboyant Bulgarian tenor. Charismatic, impulsive, and often the group's most colorful personality. Strong harmony singer, good dancer.

MARY HEGEL – Female, 20s-30s, Soprano. Rabbi's wife. A non-Jewish German woman who converts to Judaism to marry him. Courageous, compassionate, and deeply committed to her family.

RUTH STERN – Female, 20s-30s, Mezzo Soprano/Soprano. Strong-willed and politically aware. Represents resistance to the growing Nazi threat and serves as an important moral voice.

JOSEPHINE BAKER – Female, 20s-40s, Mezzo Soprano. The legendary entertainer Josephine Baker appears as herself. Confident, glamorous, charismatic, and a commanding performer with strong movement ability. African American descent.

STANDARTENFÜRER – Male, 30s-50s. Authoritative presence with strong dramatic acting ability.

BARCELONA: THE MUSICAL

SYNOPSIS: Barcelona: The Musical – is set in post–Civil War Spain in 1939 and follows the intersecting lives of students and families struggling to navigate personal loyalty, political oppression, and the moral consequences of war. This will be the premiere production.

SEEKING:

ANTONIO GARCIA – Male 20s-30s, Tenor. A University of Barcelona student who dreams of making a meaningful difference in the world. Intelligent and ambitious, Antonio is torn between his personal beliefs, loyalty to family, and growing moral conflict over Franco’s regime.

MARIA SANCHEZ – Female 20s-30s, Soprano/Mezzo. Antonio’s girlfriend and a passionate anti-Franco activist. Strong-willed, principled, and courageous, Maria is driven by personal tragedy and a deep commitment to justice and political freedom.

PEDRO LOPEZ – Male 20s-30s, Tenor. Antonio’s childhood best friend and football teammate. Pragmatic and politically skeptical, Pedro prefers to avoid activism and focus on friendship, football, and survival during uncertain times.

JOSE GARCIA – Male 40s-60s, Baritone/Tenor. Antonio’s father and a Colonel in the Spanish military. Loyal to Franco and deeply shaped by the loss of his older son, Miguel, Jose struggles to reconcile duty, patriotism, and the desire to protect his remaining son.

JUAN SANCHEZ – Male 40s-60s, Baritone/Tenor. Maria’s father and owner of a local tavern. Intelligent and well-read, he quietly supports his daughter’s convictions while fearing the dangers of her political involvement.

GENERAL FRANCO – Male 40s-60s, Baritone/Tenor. The authoritarian leader of Spain. Strategic, disciplined, and demanding absolute loyalty, Franco believes strong centralized control is necessary to restore Spain’s power and stability.

LIEUTENANT GENERAL CARLOS GONZALEZ – Male 30s-50s, Baritone/Tenor. Franco’s trusted confidante and senior military advisor. Publicly loyal and obedient, Gonzalez privately recognizes Franco’s vanity and insecurity but rarely challenges him directly.

EMILIA GARCIA – Female 40s-60s, Mezzo. Antonio’s mother. Emotionally burdened by the trauma of war and the fear of losing another child, she pressures Jose to keep Antonio away from danger.

ENSEMBLE – Students, soldiers, townspeople, football players, and protesters who collectively represent the emotional and political divisions within Spain during Franco’s rise to power.

A struggling screenwriter, who can’t sell his scripts to the Hollywood studios, may be her only hope, until their dangerous and captivating relationship leads to disaster. Drenched in champagne and cynicism, SUNSET BLVD. focuses the lens on the ambitions and frustrations of its characters and puts their intoxicating need for fame and adoration in stark close-up.

NORMA DESMOND – 45-60, Female Mezzo (G3-Eb5). A legendary silent film star who refuses to believe her career is over. Glamorous, eccentric, vulnerable, commanding, and emotionally volatile. Requires exceptional dramatic acting skill and powerful vocal ability.

JOE GILLIS – 25-35, Male Tenor (A2-G4). A struggling Hollywood screenwriter. Intelligent, cynical, charming, and ultimately conflicted. Excellent stamina.

MAX VON MAYERLING – 50-65, Baritone/Bass (C3-E4). Norma's devoted butler and former husband. Quiet, dignified, deeply loyal, and tragic.

BETTY SCHAEFER – 21-35, Female Soprano/Mezzo (A3-E5). A talented young script reader with dreams of becoming a writer. Intelligent, optimistic, warm, and determined.

SYNOPSIS: Leader of the Pack – is a jukebox musical celebrating the life and career of legendary songwriter Ellie Greenwich, featuring over 30 classic hits of the 1960s including "Be My Baby," "Da Doo

Ron Ron," "Chapel of Love," "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," "River Deep, Mountain High," and "Leader of the Pack."

SEEKING:

ELLIE GREENWICH – 25-35 Pop Belt. The heart of the show. Bright, ambitious, funny, vulnerable, and enormously talented. We watch Ellie grow from a teenage songwriter into one of pop music's greatest hitmakers.

NARRATOR – 25 – 40, Pop belt. Acts as narrator. Must possess incredible vocal power and stage presence.

JEFF BARRY – 25 – 35, Tenor. Ellie's songwriting partner and husband. Charming, ambitious, and eventually conflicted about balancing career and family life.

GUS SHARKEY – 35-60, Baritone. A charismatic record producer modeled after the larger-than-life Brill Building producers of the era.

ENSEMBLE – 21-40 Male & Female. Plays various roles of Mickey, Shelley, Rosie, Keith, Peter, Harmony singers, songwriters, etc., Exceptionally good singers and movers.
