Indecorous Theatre is looking for Non-union BIPOC and LGBTQIA actors for a production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing for the 2024 Philly Fringe Festival.

Roles Open to be Cast : ( In all cases, your gender does not necessarily need to match the gender of the character; however you do need to be comfortable, capable, and confident portraying that gender to be considered)
BEATRICE - Woman
BENEDICK - A butch woman, nonbinary person, or trans-masc person.
CLAUDIO - All genders welcome
HERO - All genders welcome
LEONATO - Woman
DON JOHN / SEXTON - All genders welcome
BORACHIO / MESSENGER - All genders welcome
CONRAD / FRIAR - All genders welcome
VERGES / MARGARET - All genders welcome
NOTE : the role of DON PEDRO has already been cast
Rehearsals will be 3 evenings a week (exact days TBD) from July 20th-August 31st (Tech week Sept 1st-6th)
Performances will be Sept 6,7,8,13,14,15,20,21,22 outdoors at Elfreth’s Alley in Old CIty, Philadelphia. Fri / Sat performances at 6pm, Sun performances at 2pm
All actors will receive a stipend of $200
Auditions will be by video submission due WEDS JULY 3RD by 11 : 59pm.
Applicants should :
Film a 1-2 min monologue from Shakespeare (Verse or Prose acceptable).
Callbacks will be held in person SUNDAY JULY 7TH by invitation only.
