Job Description
Work in a creative environment at Theatre Of Hearts/Youth First, a mid-size arts education non-profit organization. The Assistant Program Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director, Program Coordinator and Bookkeeper in all aspects of program design, progress, reporting and budgets. Theatre Of Hearts is not a theatre company and you are not working directly with the youth except for site visits. We provide arts education to schools and community-based sites countywide
Duties include, but are not limited to:
designing lesson plans with artists and school sites.
establishing timetables for program implementation, workshops and performances.
planning and facilitating meetings with sites and artists.
performing site visits and maintaining familiarity with workshop curriculum and activities.
arranging and attending collaborative and program-related meetings.
give presentation on behalf TOHYF.
recruit artists.
maintain a working knowledge of VAPA, CCSSS, ELL standards and SES.
set appointments with master programming calendar.
maintain artist resource files.
report on grants and contracts with use of assessments and evaluations.
prepare artist schedules/contracts, time sheets and invoices.
data entry, grant preparation and support for grant writing.
train artists in the TOHYF’s guidelines, site protocols and procedures.
Make sure artist’s and office supplies are ordered and up-to-date
Must be familiar with Mac OS and MS Office applications. Knowledge of File Maker Pro, Constant Contact and social media platforms. Help with organizational events and PR on as-needed basis. Attend arts events to support and recruit artists and community/school sites. Must have car, proof of current car insurance and valid license, have documents to work in USA and pass a background test.
