Company Description
Theater of Witness is a unique form of testimonial performance and documentary filmmaking in which individuals share their personal and collective stories of suffering, transformation, and peace. For over forty years, Theater of Witness has brought people together across divides of difference bear witnes to the stories of those who haven't been heard. Performers, often survivors of trauma, marginalization, and oppression, address societal challenges from various perspectives, fostering empathy, humanization, understanding, and healing.
Role Description
This is a volunteer on-site role located in Philadelphia, PA for Theater of Witness. Volunteers will assist Artistic Director Teya Sepinuck with rehearsals for GrandWomen - a new Theater of Witness piece with 6 elder women from diverse backgrounds sharing their life stories. Volunteers will support rehearsal prep, including making sure everyone has arrived safely, taking notes, supporting the performers, composer and artistic director during rehearsal, and cleaning up following rehearsal. This will be an extraordinary opportunity to be on the inside of a deep collaborative creative process.
Rehearsals are on Mondays from 12:00-2:30 in Center City.

- Experience or interest in Theater of Witness
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Previous volunteer or community engagement experience is beneficial
