What are the responsibilities and job description for the Category Buyer - Beverage position at The Zero Proof?
The Zero Proof is the leading online retailer for adult non alcoholic beverages. Started over 6 years ago, The Zero Proof allows customers to select from over 400 curated non-alcoholic wines, beers, cocktails and functional beverages. As the company grows, they are looking to bring on a passionate beverage buyer to help evangellize the products and bring some structure to the buying and merchandising process.
Responsibilities:
Buying
- Form our first “taste committee" to oversee sample requests and tastings from internal team members
- Secure fair pricing from vendors
- Manage the onboarding process
- Generate stock-on-hand and movement reports to facilitate purchasing
- Submit purchase orders in collaboration with Chief Operating Officer
Supplier Relations
- Act as main point of contact for all purchasing, onboarding, co-marketing and data conversations with our suppliers
- Establish and maintain tracking for all co-marketing agreements and commitments
- Create a “Supplier Community” program to keep our suppliers excited about partnering with The Zero Proof
- Collaborate on exclusive launches with our suppliers
Category Management
- Track consumer trends in the non-alcoholic and better-for-you beverage market
- Track competitor and market trends
- Track and communicate product and category velocities on our website
Merchandizing
- Set up a product monitoring system to catch out of stock products and bundles
- Set up a measurement system to monitor and communicate product performance
- Work with marketing team to properly merchandize new products and categories
- Own bundle creation
- Oversee and monitor ongoing site maintenance… rearranging products on Collections pages, crafting seasonal Collections, etc.
- Manage blog additions/merchandising within
Program Management
- Recruit, onboard and manage vendors to our seasonal promotional calendar
- Collaborate with marketing team to procure marketing assets for co-promotions
Requirements:
At least 2-3 years in the consumer packaged goods industry
2-3 years as a buyer or merchandising manager.
At least 1-2 years of experience with ecommerce
Experience with inventory management, purchase data or ecommerce analytics
Strong communication and relationship building skills
