Job Summary:
The Equipment Fleet & Services Manager is responsible for management of the equipment fleet and overseeing a team of mechanics/technicians who are responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of the equipment fleet and maintenance. Ensure that all work is done in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity and costs.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direction to all mechanics/technicians in the maintenance facility, assigning work to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
- Report to the Director of Fleet & Maintenance on entire scope of performance and implement procedures for process or programmatic changes to improve efficiency.
- Manage mechanics/technicians in the facilities to include such responsibilities as overseeing daily meetings, fleet walks, coaching and mentoring of staff on performance and corrective action.
- Maintain an on-going preventative maintenance program encompassing all equipment to identify maintenance history and data and identify reoccurring trends regarding breakdowns/malfunctions.
- Maintain parts ordering and inventory in a timely manner and/or order as needed.
- Adhere to a spending limit of $3,000 to include parts and labor. If this exceeds $3,000, you must utilize the Repair Maintenance Request form for supervisor approval.
- Constant and consistent communication with Division Managers to prioritize repair needs for equipment maintenance based on productivity and safety.
- Conduct quality control inspections on any and all equipment and provide issue resolution and recommendations to ensure all work is properly completed and is in accordance with the Company’s safety and compliance procedures.
- Plan and monitor personnel time and attendance to ensure weekly hours meet and do not exceed set payroll and budget parameters.
Competencies or Experience Requirements
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer skills include; RTA for tracking repairs and creating work orders, which include verifying that all parts and labor are posted and work orders are correct and accurate and closed in a timely manner. This also includes running maintenance reports to provide for the supervisor.
- Microsoft Excel & Word, Outlook E-mail system and other basic computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education Requirements:
High school Diploma and relevant work experience.
Safety
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
Travel:
Travel to job sites may be required as needed.
