Role Description
The Advisory Board Member – Education & Community Development is a volunteer leadership position based in Wesley Chapel, FL, with hybrid options for remote participation.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about shaping educational programs, community growth, and strategic impact. Board members will contribute expertise, ideas, and connections to strengthen the Academy’s mission and expand its reach across Florida and Ohio.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting strategic planning for educational and community development programs
• Advising on outreach, partnership-building, and organizational growth
• Providing guidance on funding strategies and sustainable program expansion
• Assisting with fundraising, grant strategy, and donor engagement
• Helping evaluate program effectiveness and community impact
• Attending quarterly virtual or in-person advisory meetings
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge or experience in finance, analytics, or education strategy
• Background in community development, research, or program planning
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
• Experience in fundraising, marketing, or strategic growth a plus
• Deep passion for education, community empowerment, and family development
• Prior board or advisory experience preferred but not required
