The Position
We are seeking an experienced assistant Montessori teacher who genuinely loves working with young children and finds meaning in helping them grow. This is an assistant teacher position working closely with our lead teacher and the rest of our classroom team. We are looking for someone who understands that caring for children involves much more than supervision. The right person will be patient, nurturing, dependable, observant, emotionally mature, and genuinely concerned with the well-being and development of every child.

Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher in maintaining a peaceful, organized, and thoughtfully prepared Montessori classroom.
- Work directly with children individually and in small groups.
- Encourage independence, confidence, concentration, respectful behavior, and age-appropriate responsibility.
- Assist children with practical life activities and daily classroom routines.
- Observe children carefully and communicate relevant observations with the lead teacher.
- Help maintain Montessori materials, classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety.
- Provide patient and respectful guidance during challenging moments.
- Support children's social and emotional development.
- Communicate warmly and professionally with children, families, and fellow teachers.
- Support other members of our team and assist wherever needed.
- Participate in professional development, teacher work days, school events, and training.
- Follow school policies, licensing requirements, and Montessori classroom expectations.

Qualifications
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or Montessori environment is strongly preferred.
- Montessori classroom experience or Montessori training is strongly preferred.
- Experienced early childhood educators who are genuinely interested in learning the Montessori approach are also welcome to apply.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Florida DCF child care training completed or in progress.
- CPR and first aid certification required, or willingness to obtain
- Must be able to meet all Florida child care background screening and employment requirements
Compensation is $15-17 per hour based on experience, credentials, Montessori background, and overall fit. Full-time, in-person position.
