What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Daycare- Small Group position at The Yellow Dog's Barn?
Are you passionate about helping dogs thrive in a social environment, especially those who need a little extra support? We’re looking for a dedicated Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team and work hands-on with small groups of 2–15 dogs who are learning appropriate social behavior or are nervous in new surroundings.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity for someone with a calm, confident presence and strong canine handling skills. You’ll be working with dogs that may need redirection, patience, and positive reinforcement to build confidence and learn how to interact appropriately with other dogs.
What You’ll Do:
- Supervise and engage with small groups of dogs in a safe, structured environment
- Observe behavior and body language to ensure safe, positive interactions
- Help build social skills through gentle guidance and redirection
- Monitor nervous or insecure dogs as they adjust to new people, surroundings, and playmates
- Communicate clearly with team members about progress and concerns
- Assist with feeding, cleaning, and general facility upkeep as needed

- Prior dog daycare or professional handling experience preferred
- Confident working independently and making quick decisions
- Calm, patient, and supportive demeanor with dogs of all temperaments
- Strong observational skills and understanding of canine body language
