This position coordinates kitchen flow, checks food quality and presentation, and communicates clearly with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure a seamless and exceptional dining experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Serve as the primary point of communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Review and organize incoming food orders from the dining room, ensuring that all dishes for a table are completed simultaneously.
- Inspect each dish for accuracy, proper portioning, temperature, presentation, and quality before it leaves the kitchen.
- Communicate any special requests, dietary restrictions, or modifications to kitchen staff clearly and promptly.
- Manage the flow of orders during high-volume periods, maintaining organization and efficiency.
- Prioritize orders based on service timing and guest needs.
- Assist with final garnishing, dressing, and plate finishing as needed.
- Relay any issues with ticket orders or kitchen delays to management and front-of-house teams immediately.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo station.
- Work collaboratively with chefs, line cooks, servers, and managers to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist in training new expeditors or kitchen staff on standard plating and ticket management procedures
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant environment strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
