Job Overview:
The Yards has a fast growing event business that needs an individual with exceptional organizational skills and thrives in the ever changing environment of the event industry. The individual in this role is ultimately responsible for the execution of all events to include the oversight and management of bar operations, interfacing with our customers, purchasing and receiving of all inventory and supplies including bar AND clubhouse. Additionally this role requires administrative duties that include but are not limited to, menu building, menu pricing, and properly budgeting all food and beverage product.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Inventory Management
- Plan and prepare for all events, ordering liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages based on inventory par levels and event needs.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary alcohol storage areas, patio supply closets, and event supply storage.
- Ensure unused beverages are returned to storage following each event.
- Place and manage orders for paper goods, disposable items, and cleaning supplies for pro shops and event spaces.
- Support golf, tennis, and pickleball pro shops with beverage product fulfillment and inventory oversight.
- Be proficient in operational software systems (e.g., POS, inventory) and ensure accurate use during events.
Staff Management & Training
- Hire, train, and supervise bartenders, event staff, and beverage cart attendants (beverage cart scheduling is shared with the Director of Golf).
- Schedule appropriate staffing levels for events based on business volume and specific event requirements.
- Lead ongoing training to maintain service standards and operational efficiency.
Client Experience & Event Support
- Collaborate with the Events team to coordinate custom bar packages, signature cocktails, and special requests.
- Act as on-site supervisor for scheduled events, ensuring spaces are properly set, staff are prepared, and closing procedures are followed.
- Attend weekly BEO meetings to stay aligned on upcoming event needs and staffing.
Administrative & Financial Duties
- Maintain detailed records of inventory, costs, and vendor orders; track and report biweekly inventory levels to management.
- Monitor and manage beverage COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and identify strategies to increase profitability.
- Build and update menus, pricing, and product costings within the POS system; ensure timely end-of-event reporting to Sales and Accounting.
- Develop strategic plans to improve service and financial performance annually.
- Perform administrative duties on a set schedule, aligned with vendor timelines.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to on-premise alcohol sales.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards across all food and beverage areas.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience with large events, all aspects of banquets, food & beverage bar operations and customer experience.
- Proven experience in customer service management, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage handling procedures.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Proficient in inventory control.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
