At Wurst Meat Shop in Saratoga Springs, everything we sell is crafted right here in our shop. We make over 100 products in house, from sausages to specialty cuts, and every one starts with local, locally raised animals. We take real pride in the quality of our meats and in the experience our customers have every time they walk through the door.
We’re looking for a part-time Retail Associate who knows their way around meat, loves to cook, and can’t wait to share our products with the community. You won’t just be ringing up orders. You’ll be the person customers trust for advice, recipe ideas, and the inside scoop on what’s new in the case.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome customers and help them choose the right products, sharing cooking tips, recipe ideas, and recommendations along the way
- Get to know our 100 house-made products so you can tell customers what makes each one special and help them try something new
- Share the story behind our meats
- Promote our monthly meat subscriptions and help manage the program so every member gets their order on time
- Ring up sales accurately, handling cash and card payments and balancing the register
- Label products, count inventory, and keep orders organized
- Keep our cases, displays, and shop clean, stocked, and looking great
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine knowledge of meat: different cuts, how they’re best cooked, and what makes quality meat stand out
- A love of cooking and a passion for sharing food ideas with others
- Friendly, clear communication and a knack for making customers feel welcome
- Basic math skills for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
- Comfort with basic data entry and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for several hours, work in a cold environment, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Retail or customer service experience is a plus, but your food knowledge and enthusiasm matter most

- Schedule: 10–20 hours per week, including a few Saturdays each month
