The World Bank is seeking a Cloud Solution Architect with expertise in AI/ML applications to assist in designing architecture diagrams and security documentation. Additionally, this role will serve as a Platform Engineer, facilitating collaboration between application teams and cloud platform teams.

Objective:

The primary objective of this role is twofold:

• To design and develop architecture diagrams and security documentation for AI/ML applications.
• To act as a liaison between application teams and cloud platform teams, ensuring seamless integration and operation.

Scope of Work:

The AI/ML Platform Engineer will be responsible for:

• Architecture and Security (50%)
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand AI/ML application requirements.
• Designing cloud architecture solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Preparing detailed architecture diagrams and security documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with industry best practices and World Bank policies.
• Platform Engineering (50%)
• Facilitating communication and collaboration between application teams and cloud platform teams.
• Assisting in the deployment and management of cloud-based AI/ML solutions.
• Providing technical support and guidance to ensure efficient platform operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Architecture and Security (50%)
• Design and Documentation:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze AI/ML application requirements.
• Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architecture solutions.
• Prepare detailed architecture diagrams and comprehensive security documentation.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry best practices and World Bank security policies.
• Security Assurance:
• Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud-based AI/ML solutions.
• Develop and implement security protocols and guidelines to protect data and applications.
• Stay informed about the latest security threats and implement measures to mitigate risks.
• Platform Engineering (50%)
• Liaison and Coordination:
• Serve as the primary liaison between application teams and cloud platform teams.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to ensure seamless integration and operation of AI/ML solutions.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to cloud platforms.
• Deployment and Management:
• Support the deployment and management of cloud-based AI/ML applications.
• Optimize cloud resources to enhance performance and reduce costs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to application teams to ensure efficient platform operations.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the cloud platform.
• Implement best practices for cloud operations and platform engineering.
• Contribute to the development of training materials and conduct workshops for team members.

Deliverables:

• Comprehensive architecture diagrams and security documentation for AI/ML applications.
• Technical documentation and guidelines for implementation.
• Regular progress reports and presentations to stakeholders.
• Effective communication and resolution of issues between application and platform teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Solution Architect and Platform Engineer with a focus on AI/ML applications.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure and Google Cloud.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.
