Responsibilities
- Participates as a member of the child study team in classifying children and developing Individualized Educational Programs (IEP).
- Meets with Classroom Teachers and specialists to discuss the details and implementation of the IEPs of classified students.
- Leads meetings between Child Study Teams and parents to interpret test results and develop IEPs.
- Provides classroom teachers with a plan for carrying out diagnostic and prescriptive services to classified children in accordance with IEPs.
- Coordinates and directs child study team meetings.
- Plans with and advises the resource room and Special Education Teachers of instructional strategies for classified students.
- Maintains a working knowledge of existing curriculum and remedial methods as a means of adapting district curriculum to the needs of classified children.
- Assists classroom teachers with informal, diagnostic, and pre-referral procedures.
