ROLE OVERVIEW
The Campus Pastor leads and shepherds one of our TWC campuses by guiding staff, volunteers, Dream Team leaders, and the congregation. This role ensures that the vision of our Senior Pastor is executed with clarity, passion, and excellence at the campus level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership, Staff, and Volunteer Development
• Lead, coach, and develop campus staff, Dream Team coaches, and key volunteer leaders.
• | Recruit, train, and release leaders across ministry areas. Build a healthy, aligned, effective campus staff team. Champion TWC leadership pipelines and communication pillars. Hold weekly and monthly meetings with coordinators (Groups, Growth Track, |
Dream Team).
• Provide pastoral care and support to leaders and members.
Weekend Experience & Service Flow
• Oversee the full Sunday experience from start to finish.
• Collaborate with worship, production, hospitality, communications, and NextGen teams.
• | Prepare the facility and ensure all teams are equipped and ready. Host and facilitate service elements and ministry moments. Monitor attendance, next-steps, connection cards, and campus metrics. Welcome visitors, connect with guests, and pastor individuals. Prepare a backup message weekly. |
Discipleship & Spiritual Oversight
• | Provide pastoral care, prayer, and biblical counseling. Lead or assist in preaching, teaching, and spiritual formation. Model prayer, Scripture, integrity, and a healthy spiritual life. Lead Saturday prayer and other spiritual gatherings as needed. Support baptisms, Growth Track, andThe Word Way monthly. |
Campus Growth, Outreach & Community Engagement
• | Develop and implement growth strategies for campus expansion. Lead campus-level outreach initiatives and local community partnerships. Partner with Groups and Next-Gen to strengthen discipleship pathways. Build and sustain systems that support attendance, engagement, and retention. Meet regularly with the Groups Coordinator to coach leaders and build a healthy |
group culture.
Systems, Operations & Campus Administration
• Ensure campus alignment with TWC systems, processes, and communication rhythms.
• Oversee campus operations, facility readiness, reporting, and administrative follow-through.
• Manage budget forecasting, monthly expense reports, coding, and Divvy submissions.
• Attend staff meetings and collaborate with central departments.
• Maintain communication responsiveness within 24–48 hours.
Evaluate connection cards weekly and ensure timely
follow-up.•
Special Events & Church-wide Support
• Plan, staff, and execute campus special events.
• Support church-wide events as assigned by central leadership.
• Assist with stage design transitions, series launches, and seasonal initiatives.
Pastoral Coverage & Care
• | Provide crisis care, hospital visits, funerals, weddings, and dedications. Maintain consistent study, spiritual preparation, and personal growth. Pray regularly for The Word Church, its leaders, and its members. |
OTHER EXPECTATIONS
• | Maintain a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. |
• | Perform additional duties as assigned. |
QUALIFICATIONS & PROFILE
Essential
• | Vibrant relationship with Jesus and alignment with TWC theology and culture. Proven leadership experience in multi-site or large-scale ministry. Ability to build and manage systems and teams. Strong communicator, pastor, and leader. Passion for outreach, youth, and young adult empowerment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required. |
Preferred
• | Demonstrated track record of measurable ministry growth. Experience coaching staff and volunteer leaders. Proficiency with Planning Center. Experience serving in a multicultural ministry context. |
