The Wooten Company’s Raleigh Office is seeking a team-focused, innovative Summer Intern - Civil Engineering to join us for the Summer of 2026!
Who are you?
The ideal candidate will be in the process of obtaining an engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters) and a strong interest in civil site, water resources, and / or environmental engineering.
What will you be doing?
Candidates can expect to be given the opportunity to develop solutions, using cutting edge technology along with existing infrastructure. Candidates will be given the opportunity to work through a rotation of different groups such as:
-Site Design (Storm water management designs, erosion and sediment control design and grading)
-Water/ Wastewater Design
-Water Treatment Design
-Surveying Teams
-Construction Administration

In this internship, you can expect cross functional collaboration across all teams and specialties, providing an opportunity to interact with Wooten colleagues in various areas of specialization. This is a fantastic opportunity to access hands-on experience working on projects that impact our communities in a collaborative environment.
Where will you be working?
The Wooten Company’s Raleigh office is conveniently nestled in the Glenwood South District on Boylan Ave. The local area is filled with restaurants and nightlife, unique shops, art galleries and studios, and new apartments, all built in what was once a row of warehouse buildings. Wooten has free on-site parking for employees, and many of these great places are a short walk away!
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Produce engineering layouts with supportive calculations
- Participate in site visits
- Assist Design team engineers and project managers with support assistance as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Rising college junior or senior/graduate studying engineering
- Working knowledge of computer application software including AutoCAD / Civil 3D
- Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
- Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
- Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
- Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Valid Driver’s license
