About Us
The Woodwork Shop is a specialty hardwood lumber and woodworking supply store serving the Memphis area since 1996. We carry domestic and exotic hardwoods, cabinet-grade sheet goods, and Festool tools, and we offer on-site milling services.
Position Summary
We are hiring a full-time Retail Sales Associate to work at the front of the store. This person will assist customers with product selection, process sales, and support both retail and trade customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with selecting lumber, sheet goods, tools, and supplies
- Provide product knowledge on wood species, sheet goods, and tools
- Process sales transactions using the store's POS system
- Prepare quotes and write up milling orders
- Build and maintain relationships with trade and retail customers
- Restock merchandise and maintain a clean, organized sales floor
- Assist with loading customer orders
Requirements
- Sales experience
- Retail experience
- Woodworking experience (professional or hobby)
- Ability to lift and move lumber and sheet goods
- Reliable and able to work a full-time schedule
- Must be detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Cabinetmaking, millwork, or construction experience
- Experience with Festool or other professional tool brands
- Experience with retail POS systems
- Forklift experience
