Venue Technical Director & Digital Marketing Coordinator

Full-Time (11-month)

 

Job Summary:

This is a 50/50 split role, serving as the primary technical production contact for Loos Center for the Arts, a 1,016-seat, fully networked performing arts venue on the campus of The Woodstock Academy, and as day-to-day manager of the Academy's social media presence and visual storytelling. This role oversees technical operations for approximately 25 public concerts and performances per year plus internal events and facility rentals, serving as the primary lighting designer, maintaining all technical systems, and advancing shows with touring artists and management. The role also manages the school's social media accounts and content strategy, serves as day-to-day photographer, and supports operational functions as a trusted partner to the Executive Director.


The successful candidate will:

The successful candidate is a technically skilled, safety-conscious professional with hands-on lighting design and programming experience, working knowledge of live sound and rigging, and strong organizational ability, who is also a capable photographer, videographer, and social content creator. Resourceful and dependable, comfortable working independently and alongside touring production crews.

 

General Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Production

- Serve as the primary lighting designer/console operator for all productions and events; Intermediate ETC Eos software experience is required.

- Maintain working knowledge of the venue's audio systems (Yamaha, Sennheiser, Shure, d&b) to operate, troubleshoot, and support visiting engineers

- Operate and maintain rigging, fly systems, and projection per ETCP/ANSI standards

- Advance events with touring artists and management; review riders, prepare schedules, and serve as on-site technical liaison

- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repairs of all technical systems; maintain equipment inventory and documentation

 

Digital Media & Communications

- Manage The Woodstock Academy's social media accounts and content strategy, supporting admissions and advancement goals

- Create and publish photo, video, and graphic content; serve as day-to-day photographer for the school

- Run paid social campaigns and manage the school's online presence

- Collaborate with outside marketing vendors (photographers, videographers, etc.) as needed

 

Operational Support & Community

- Support box office/ticketing operations and event-day front-of-house logistics as directed

- Advise the Loos Center's student Technical Theater Club

- other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications:

- Demonstrated lighting design/programming experience for live events; advanced ETC Eos proficiency required

- Working knowledge of DMX/sACN, LED fixtures, and moving light programming; familiarity with rigging and safe overhead work practices

- Live sound and social media/photo experience a plus, or a strong willingness to learn

- Strong communication skills; able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and problem-solve under pressure

- Evening/weekend availability during the academic year; high school diploma required

- Candidate must pass a background check

- Preferred: ETCP certification, Dante/sACN networking, QLab or show control software, prior experience in a performing arts venue

 

 

Schedule & Compensation

This 11-month position schedule tied to the Loos Center event calendar. The majority of event-day work occurs in the evenings and on weekends throughout the academic year. Show advancing, systems maintenance, and administrative work may be performed on a flexible daytime schedule.

Salary : $45,000 - $58,000
