We are looking for someone who wants to become familiar with one special property and take genuine pride in caring for it. This is not a fast-paced cleaning position focused on completing as many properties as possible. The goal is to thoughtfully and consistently prepare one home so that it feels clean, organized, welcoming, and special for every arriving guest.

The right person will appreciate the beauty of the house, enjoy working independently in a quiet setting, and feel a sense of ownership and connection to the property.

About the Role

The housekeeper and property caretaker will be responsible for preparing The Woodlands House between guest stays. This includes detailed cleaning, completing laundry, making beds, resetting rooms, restocking supplies, and documenting completed work through an app-based checklist and photos.

Reliability and scheduling are extremely important. Cleaning dates are tied directly to guest departures and arrivals, so the person in this role must be organized, communicate clearly, and consistently arrive at the agreed-upon time.

Formal professional cleaning experience is not required. We are more interested in finding someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a very clean and organized home, has naturally high standards, notices small details, and is dependable enough to consistently follow through on scheduled cleans.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and reset the home between guest stays
• Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living spaces, floors, and high-touch surfaces
• Wash, dry, fold, and organize linens and towels
• Make beds and prepare bedrooms for arriving guests
• Check rooms for forgotten items, stains, damage, or maintenance concerns
• Restock guest supplies and keep household and cleaning supplies organized
• Follow a detailed app-based cleaning checklist
• Upload photos documenting completed work
• Communicate promptly about scheduling, availability, supply needs, damage, or unexpected issues
• Use cleaning products safely and appropriately on a variety of surfaces
• Maintain consistent cleaning and presentation standards
• Complete occasional deep-cleaning and property-care tasks
• Help ensure the house feels warm, orderly, and thoughtfully prepared for every guest

Requirements

• Personal experience maintaining and thoroughly cleaning your own home
• A demonstrated sense of pride in keeping a home exceptionally clean, organized, and well cared for
• Naturally high standards for cleanliness and an ability to notice small details others may overlook
• Willingness to learn and consistently follow the property’s specific cleaning, laundry, and presentation standards
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills
• Ability to reliably commit to scheduled cleaning dates and arrive on time
• Reliable personal vehicle with four-wheel drive
• Valid driver’s license and comfort driving in rain, snow, and changing winter conditions
• Smartphone with reliable service for scheduling, checklists, messaging, and photo documentation
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, lift, carry, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to safely lift approximately 30–40 pounds
• Clear, responsive communication and dependable follow-through

Helpful but Not Required

• Vacation rental or Airbnb turnover experience
• Hot tub familiarity or willingness to learn basic hot tub checks
• Experience noticing maintenance or property-care concerns
• Familiarity with app-based platforms such as Breezeway

Schedule

Cleaning dates depend on guest reservations and may vary from week to week. Most work takes place during daytime turnover hours between guest checkout at 11am and the next arrival.

Because the schedule is connected to guest stays, reliability is essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable planning ahead, keeping track of scheduled cleans, communicating availability promptly, and showing up on time without needing frequent reminders.

Advance notice is provided whenever possible, although occasional reservation changes may affect the schedule.
