Assistant Aquatic Director-Woodlands
The Assistant Aquatic Director reports directly to the Aquatics Director and will be responsible for swimming instruction, assisting in pool maintenance, scheduling and supervising lifeguard staff; perform administrative duties, provide customer service, and more.
The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills, a passion for working with people, and must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job.
Qualifications
High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Certifications: Lifeguard, WSI or similar certification; CPO a plus.
Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching swimming lessons (preferably children)
Experience organizing, leading and instructing aquatic programs including swimming lessons infant through adult.
Experience supervising and managing subordinate staff

Responsibilities/Job Description
· Full-time-flexible schedule that may include early evenings and Saturdays
· Assist in all programs and activities offered by the Aquatics Department.
· The Assistant Aquatic Director will perform professional work at a supervisory level in the development and direction in a variety of aquatic activities.
· The position involves on-going written and verbal communication with the membership, club staff and other aquatic professions in the creation, planning and implementation of aquatic programs.
- Teach swimming classes to members and their guests.
- May teach water aerobics; training provided.
- Maintain pools through testing, balancing and cleaning.
- Perform written tasks such as lesson plans, program promotion, class registration, and monitor aquatic staff time clock punches.
· Ability to keep data, prepare reports, accurately bill members for services including swimming lessons, guest visits and camp registrations.
· Maintain and oversee the attendance and progress records for all students.
· Assist with opening and maintaining the outdoor pools when in season.
· Assist in hiring, training and evaluating summertime staff. Ensure all lifeguards are certified and maintain their certifications.
· Provide lifeguard staff training and in-service.
· Supervise lifeguards, overseeing the daily activities, schedule, and performance of the lifeguards.
· Provide in-services for lifeguards and instructor meetings.
· Assist in Kiddie Kamp including swim lessons, lunches, and supervision.
- Maintain safe and working equipment through scheduled maintenance program.
· Work to improve program participation/education through public relations.
- Continue education through advanced certifications, professional meetings, seminars, readings, and trade shows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
