Compensation & Benefits

$25.00-$28.00/hour ($45,500-$50,960 annually), 35 hours per week

TWC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Job Purpose

The Community Engagement Specialist serves as a visible ambassador for The Women's Center ("TWC") in the Southcoast of Massachusetts community, raising awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, and the services TWC provides to survivors. This role builds and maintains connections with the general public, organizations, businesses, and institutions that help make the community aware of our services. The Community Engagement Specialist also supports the Executive Director in fundraising efforts and donor stewardship that sustain TWC's mission.

Responsibilities

Outreach & Education

  • Implement TWC outreach strategies to promote programs, services, and events across the Southcoast community, with a special focus in April for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with partner agencies, schools, faith communities, businesses, and other organizations to expand TWC's community presence and referral network.
  • Plan, organize, promote, and represent the organization at tabling events such as human services fairs, school events, and community forums.
  • Deliver presentations in schools, faith communities, and other settings using TWC content, educating audiences about domestic violence, sexual assault, and healthy relationships, helping them recognize the signs of abuse and connect survivors to support.
  • Work with design team to create flyers, social media content, newsletters, and brochures for education and engagement.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure the impact and effectiveness of outreach programs; provide outreach statistics and program data to support grant applications and reporting as needed.

Fundraising & Development

  • Serve as the staff lead for the annual 5K fundraiser, coordinating all preparatory logistics and day-of operations under the guidance of the Finance and Administration Director and in collaboration with staff committee.
  • Maintain the development donor database (Bloomerang), ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor information and contributions; prepare and send donor acknowledgment letters in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and implement the Annual Appeal, including direct mail and/or email outreach to donors and community members, and manage follow-up communications.
  • Manage and organize incoming donated holiday toys, food, and other items in collaboration with the Finance and Administration Director and other staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to TWC's mission to end domestic violence and sexual assault and support survivors.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills; comfort engaging diverse audiences including youth, faith communities, and professional groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to represent TWC professionally across a wide range of community settings.
  • Experience in community outreach, social services, public health, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with donor databases or CRM platforms; experience with fundraising operations a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; local travel throughout the Southcoast region is a regular part of this role.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
