Seasonal Sales Associate – The Women of Pader Uganda (Part-Time)
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: Late August – December 2025
Hours: Flexible days and weekends; 15-20hours a week on average and more on major event weeks
Compensation: $15-$20/hr depending on experience and availability
About Us
The Women of Pader Uganda (TWOPU) is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and transforming a rural community in Northern Uganda through spiritual formation, economic opportunity, education, and agricultural development. The Bead Project, one of TWOPU’s longest-standing initiatives, provides employment to local artisans and advances the mission by sharing their stories through events, product sales, and community outreach.
Position Overview
We’re seeking an energetic, motivated associate/salesperson to support our small team during our busiest season. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about ethical fashion, global impact, and storytelling. You’ll gain experience in nonprofit retail, event management, and brand representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup, tear-down, and sales at fall markets and pop-ups
- Learn about our mission, products, and artisans to confidently represent us
- Help keep the office and inventory organized post-event
- Assist with packing, unpacking, tagging, and restocking jewelry
- Represent The Bead Project to potential retailers and attend occasional meetings
- Support outreach and relationship-building with like-minded boutiques and shops
- Assist with social media and email content for The Bead Project
Who We’re Looking For
- Enthusiastic and personable, with strong communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and available weekends and a few hours during the week
- Excited to work behind the scenes of a non-profit and on the front lines for our artisans
- Comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs and setting up market booths
- Creativity in setting up booths, decorating, and social media representation
- Bonus: Interest in nonprofit work, retail, ethical fashion, or international development and camera experience.
- Must have reliable transportation and own a computer
Schedule & Commitment
- Part-time: 15-20hrs/week, some overtime
- Start date: Week of August 26
- End date: Mid-December (with potential to continue into 2026)
The weekly schedule for this internship is already determined and can be given up front, with some potential and flexibility for edits based upon our associate's availability.
Salary : $15 - $20
