What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Assistant - Nefedova Lab position at The Wistar Institute?
The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Yulia Nefedova. The Nefedova Laboratory focuses on the biology of myeloid cells in cancer, primarily multiple myeloma, and identification of potential therapeutic targets in this disease. The successful candidate will provide technical support by performing laboratory tasks and experiments. Responsibilities will include processing tissue samples from patients, performing flow cytometry analysis and qPCR, isolation cells from human and mouse tissues, and basic mouse colonies maintenance.
A bachelor’s degree in a science-related field is required, preferably with one to two years of experience working in a laboratory environment. Experience in the handling of laboratory animals (mice), flow cytometry, and qPCR is also preferred.
