Life Enrichment Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Life Enrichment Director to lead engaging programs and activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. In this vital role, you will create a vibrant, inclusive environment by designing and implementing diverse recreational and social activities tailored to the unique needs of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring memory care. Your enthusiasm and creativity will inspire residents to participate actively, fostering a sense of community, purpose, and joy every day.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times.
• Develops individual and group relationships with residents, their family members, and guests.
• Maintains a monthly robust calendar with activities to provide opportunities for residents with varying interests.
• Tracks resident participation in programs and develops a plan to get residents involved in activities.
• Develops well-defined community spaces for residents to meet.
• Develops an effective communication platform to inform and remind residents of daily activities.
• Plans various activities and outings and accompanies residents on various trips outside the community.
• Sets up activity/entertainment area for activities. This could include tables, chairs, food, entertainment equipment, etc.
• Keeps office and activities area neat, clean, and organized.
• Decorates various areas of the community with seasonal/holiday decorations. Timely removes and stores decorations.
• Plans celebration of resident birthdays.
• Plans monthly meetings with residents to get feedback regarding current activities, as well as suggestions for added activities.
• Orders and/or purchases supplies for activities in accordance with monthly budget.
• Works with Chef to plan and provide food for events/special occasions.
• Drives community vehicle to transport residents to doctor appointments and outings.
• Works with sales/marketing department to assist in planning and execution of various marketing events.
• Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department, and safety requirements.
• Requires walking, sitting, and/or standing for extended periods of time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as established by company insurance provider, is required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Experience working with seniors preferred.
• Ability to be creative in providing fresh activities to encourage resident participation.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Competent in organization and time management.
• Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently.
• Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees.
• Must be proficient in use of computers, with the ability to learn various software.
• Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
• Regular attendance is required.

Working conditions

• May require working with challenging residents.
• Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, families, guests and vendors.
• Occasional weekend, evening or night work if needed.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
• May require driving van or bus.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
