The Willis Law Group PLLC has an immediate opening for a Civil Ligation Insurance Defense
Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Must be able to handle a high volume.
docket with federal trial experience and maintain daily billable timekeeping. Candidates must be
detail-oriented and have a demonstrated ability to perform consistent high-quality work while
cognizant of task-related deadlines with little or no supervision. This is an onsite opportunity in Garland, TX.
Paralegal Responsibilities:
• Strong familiarity with Federal court PACER system.
• Assist with drafting of pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Preparing attorneys for depositions, meditations, and trial.
• Communicating with clients, claim specialists, and expert witnesses.
• Ordering medical records and preparing medical chronologies.
• Conducting research, investigating facts, and developing legal arguments.
• Case management and file organization.
• Summarizing witness testimony.
• Daily billable timekeeping
• Supporting up to 3 attorneys.
• E-filing of pleadings, motions, and service on all parties
Paralegal Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/GED or higher education.
• ABA approved certification is a plus.
• Insurance Defense experience.
• Strong knowledge of MS Word.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Multitasking capabilities.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality required.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work well with team members.
• Knowledge of Caret Legal software is a huge plus.
