Description

The Williamsport Home is seeking a motivated, reliable professional who takes initiative. We’re looking for a Security Screener who is a true self-starter—someone who can work independently, stay alert, and ensure safety with confidence and integrity.

Summary

To provide support for The Williamsport Home by monitoring the facility to keep staff and residents safe. 

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; inspecting buildings and access points-permitting entry
2. Makes random rounds throughout the campus
3. Maintains logs of date/time of rounds
4. Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities
5. Participates in development of safety policies and procedures
6. Screens all employees and visitors upon entry into the building
7. Directs visitors/vendors to appropriate staff
8. Responsible for complete confidentiality in all aspects of the position
9. Receives medication deliveries for Assistance in Living residents
10. Receives items from visitors to be given to resident from their family/friends
11. Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices, assuring resident safety.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent hand, arm and finger use. Good visual and hearing acuity required; good verbal communication skills required. Able to move about throughout facilities easily during all hours of the day.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Works with frequent interruptions throughout shift
2. Must be able to walk extensively
3. Works in all areas of the campus
4. May be subject to smoke/fire alarms
5. May be subject to distraught residents/family members/visitors
6. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
7. Stooping/bending required during normal workday activities
8. May be exposed to disruptive behavior
9. Hard surface floors
10. Occasional dust, fumes and noise

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
2. Experience in a health-related facility preferred.
3. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
4. Must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and government agencies/personnel and the general public.
6. Must successfully complete the required criminal background check, drug screening and health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
