Overview

Success awaits a hands-on, personable, motivated, and professional People Culture Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced, high-energy and empowered individual who will proactively provide constant support and guidance to our entire team regarding people resources, systems and SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Director of People and Culture with:
  • Managing communication, including answering phone calls and taking messages
  • Maintain calendar, schedule meetings and appointments
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Provides timely assistance to team members by answering employee requests and questions
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process, submits new-employee background checks
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
  • Prepares offer packets, benefit packets and other employee related information
  • Coordinates new hire paperwork and new hire orientation meetings
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Administers employee benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Assists with colleague recognition, reward and incentive programs
  • Assists in coordinating and managing employee trainings
  • Completes employment verifications and unemployment claims
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable local, state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Oversees organizational processes within department, such as file audits, paperwork maintenance, etc.
  • Responsible for updating department logs and spreadsheets.
  • Maintains filing and organization for HR department

Skills

  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Approach all encounters with guests and colleagues in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Comply with Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Must be proactive in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required/PHR or SPHR certified preferred
  • Minimum of (2) years’ experience actively serving in human resource management in a hotel/resort environment
  • Required proficiency, knowledge, and experience in all HR process: selection & employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, employment law, workers compensation and talent management
  • Experience in ADP Workforce Now is a plus
