Job Summary
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist implements and manages EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance, reduces workplace risks, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. This position serves as a technical resource for safety and environmental matters and works closely with operations to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Conduct facility inspections to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
· Lead accident, injury, and near-miss investigations.
· Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses.
· Develop and deliver employee safety training programs.
· Monitor compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
· Manage assigned EHS programs such as LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, confined space, and hazardous waste.
· Prepare inspection reports and compliance documentation.
· Analyze EHS performance data and identify trends.
· Support regulatory inspections and audits.
· Serve as EHS software system administrator for assigned modules.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor / Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
· 1-3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
