What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant General Manager - Wicked Loon position at The Wicked Loon?
Assistant General Manager
The Wicked Loon | Wolfeboro, NH
The Wicked Loon is a high-volume upscale waterfront restaurant located on the town docks in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, at the heart of one of New England's most vibrant lake communities.
As we head into our fourth summer as a growing hospitality group, we are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to work directly under the GM and help lead front-of-house operations through a busy seasonal run from April through October.
This role is seasonal to start, with the potential to become a permanent year-round position for the right person.
What makes this role unique is the nature of the operation. We serve both lunch and dinner at a high level, and doing both well takes focus, consistency, and strong floor leadership.
Most importantly, you will help lead the team into service, through service, and out of service - setting the tone, managing the pace, supporting staff, interacting with guests, and making sure standards hold from open to close.
This is a role for someone who cares about the details: the dining room, the team, the guest experience, every plate, and every drink that leaves the line.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a proven front-of-house leader with strong restaurant experience, high standards, and a real sense of ownership.
The right candidate can hold people accountable, train and develop a team, and lead with professionalism, urgency, and integrity.
Relationships matter here, but this is not a role for someone more interested in being liked than respected.
What You'll Be Doing
You will work directly with the GM to help lead daily front-of-house operations and support the performance and development of the team.
Responsibilities include:
opening the restaurant and running shifts
leading lunch and dinner service
scheduling the front-of-house team
hiring, interviewing, and training staff
supporting and training seasonal and J-1 team members
managing guest flow and the pace of service
interacting with guests and setting the tone for hospitality
overseeing end-of-day procedures
maintaining standards for service, appearance, knowledge, and execution
Why This Role Matters
There are strong systems in place, along with real room for leadership, ownership, and innovation.
This is an opportunity to make a real impact, help shape a growing operation, and leave your mark on a restaurant in a beautiful, highly visible location at the center of the community.
There is also potential for future opportunities within the organization for the right person.
Qualifications
previous restaurant management experience required
strong front-of-house leadership experience required
high-volume and/or upscale dining experience preferred
proven ability to train, coach, and develop a service team
strong organizational and communication skills
availability for the full peak season
Compensation
$1,100–$1,300 per week, depending on experience and leadership background.
