An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and motivated Group Sales Manager to join us and be responsible for driving sales and events for the hotel and surrounding sister properties: The Caboose & Kitty's . This role is an integral member of the leadership team.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create and maintain a positive proactive and reactive sales culture.
- An emphasis on executing contract deliverables and administrative Perfect Venue tasks such as contracts and BEOs.
- Assist in setting and delivering guest satisfaction, sales strategy and profitability results through effective collaboration on monthly, quarterly and annual plans and budgets.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships between departments, with coworkers, ownership and the corporate management team. Prepare for team leadership meetings in advance.
- Keep abreast of new technologies, systems and procedures related to hospitality management. Travel as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous sales experience 3 years; Marriott-specific experience or Perfect Venue experience a plus.
- Proficient in executing time-sensitive events and with use of various hospitality software systems.
- Strong leadership experience with demonstrated ability to coach a team.
- PC literacy is required as well as accessibility 24/7 including weekends and holidays.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to understand and carry out industry specific written and oral direction. Positive, innovative approach to problem solving. Presents ideas in a clear, concise, understandable, and organized manner; negotiate, persuade, and modify opinion in order to reach the goals/objectives of the organization.
- Strong understanding of industry and demonstrated knowledge in the areas of financial analysis, business administration, legal, human resources, ethical practices, marketing, business development, revenue management, and sales.
- Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key associates, guests and top management.
- Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion is critical to success. Must be professional at setting priorities and coping with competing demands.
- Excellent time-management and general organization skills.
- High level of integrity and ethics.
