Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a positive attitude
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, including wine and spirits options, to enhance guest choices
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Upsell menu items, including cocktails, wines, and specialty dishes to maximize sales opportunities
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are consistently met during food handling and serving
- Process transactions efficiently using POS systems, handle cash or credit card payments accurately
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and supporting kitchen staff when needed
- Maintain excellent guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally
- Support opening or closing procedures as required, including cleaning and organizing service areas
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially fine dining preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for reservations management
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest satisfaction and sales revenue
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and food industry standards
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Basic math skills for cashiering, sales transactions processing, and change handling
- Food safety certification and understanding of sanitation practices in food handling
- Previous experience in serving or host/hostess roles is advantageous but not required; a passion for hospitality is essential
