The Westin Westminster is seeking an accomplished, forward-thinking Director of Food & Beverage to lead our multi-million-dollar operation with vision, precision, and passion. This is a senior executive role overseeing the property’s Food & Beverage management team-not a restaurant management position.

We are not seeking a Restaurant Manager. We are seeking a strategic business leader-someone who will lead our Restaurant Manager, Banquet Manager, and Executive Chef, driving excellence across all outlets and functions. The ideal candidate will possess the leadership qualities and business acumen required to advance into a General Manager role in the future. This position includes a performance-based bonus plan tied to departmental and overall hotel results.

About The Role

With over $15 million in annual Food & Beverage revenue, The Westin Westminster operates one of the most dynamic banquet and catering programs in the region, alongside thriving restaurant, bar, and in-room dining outlets.

As the Food & Beverage Director, you will focus on strategy, leadership, and financial performance-guiding your managers to execute at the highest level while maintaining strong control of costs, labor, and profitability. This position demands not only operational expertise, but also executive-level financial insight and a commitment to developing the next generation of hospitality leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of department leaders including the Executive Chef, Restaurant Manager, and Banquet Manager.
  • Provide strategic direction for all outlets - restaurant, bar/lounge, banquets, coffee shop, and in-room dining.
  • Drive profitability through effective cost control, labor management, and P&L analysis.
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and managers on creative programming, menu design, and seasonal promotions that align with the Westin brand.
  • Oversee high-volume banquet operations ensuring flawless execution of weddings, corporate events, and large-scale functions.
  • Establish clear financial goals and deliver results through strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Events to ensure cohesive, seamless service for group and catering events.
  • Uphold Westin and Marriott brand standards for quality, presentation, and service consistency.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction metrics, including GuestVoice and online reviews, and implement improvement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of senior Food & Beverage leadership experience in a full-service hotel or resort environment, with direct oversight of other managers.
  • Demonstrated success managing high-volume banquet operations and multi-outlet programs generating $10M in annual F&B revenue.
  • Strong financial acumen-proven ability to interpret and drive results from P&L statements, cost reports, and labor analytics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance daily execution and long-term vision.
  • Advanced knowledge of hospitality operations, food & beverage trends, and health/safety compliance.
  • Experience with POS and hotel management systems preferred.

Candidates without prior experience as a senior-level Food & Beverage leader (with direct managerial oversight of other leaders) will not be considered.
