Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

 

Overview: A Kolter Hospitality Barista delivers service excellence to our guests in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. This position is responsible for receiving and delivering guests orders and collecting payments.

Performance Expectations:

  1. Enthusiastically greet guests.
  2. Must be able to handle all guest inquiries with professionalism and diplomacy.
  3. Prepare and serve food and drinks for guests.
  4. Have a thorough knowledge of menus and applicable specials, including ingredients and preparation of menu items.
  5. Adhere to the Starbucks Certified Barista Training regulations and procedures. 
  6. Ability to multi-task and prioritize those tasks while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  7. Ring food orders into computer immediately.
  8. Process and collect payments from guests.
  9. Maintain a clean and efficient coffee shop.
  10. Perform opening and closing procedures.
  11. Know and comply with state food handling and liquor laws.
  12. Engage guests in a cordial, efficient and professional manner.
  13. Report any items in need of repair.
  14. Follow all safety procedures while working.

Qualifications:

General Requirements:

Able to work weekends

Report to work on time and in proper uniform.

Proficiency in reading and communicating in English.

Knowledge and/or ability to operate a computer.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Experience: Minimum of 1-year of service in the hospitality industry. Preferably experience as a server or guest service.

Education: High school diploma or GED plus 2 years’ guest service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge and ability.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours.

Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
