Assistant Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chief Engineer to assist the Director of Engineering in leading the maintenance and engineering operations of our prestigious hotel property. In this pivotal role, you be assisting the Director of Engineering in all aspects of facilities management, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and optimal performance of the building’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Your leadership will drive a culture of proactive maintenance, technical excellence, and continuous improvement, creating a welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. Duties

• Lead and supervise the engineering team to deliver exceptional facilities management services across all hotel operations
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to streamline workflows and track asset performance
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical systems—including high voltage and low voltage equipment—and mechanical infrastructure
• Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues efficiently
• Manage industrial maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Coordinate projects involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical upgrades, or system overhauls from planning through execution
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify potential problems early
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and safety inspections to support compliance audits
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or large-scale projects in manufacturing or facilities environments
• Lead emergency response efforts related to electrical or mechanical failures to minimize downtime

Requirements

• Proven management experience supervising engineering or maintenance teams in a hospitality or industrial setting
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems—including high voltage and low voltage—and mechanical components
• Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and industrial control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Hands-on experience with CMMS software for maintenance management and asset tracking
• Demonstrated ability to oversee complex projects within manufacturing or facilities management environments
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a safety-conscious culture
• Proficiency in English with strong communication skills for collaboration across departments
• Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience—especially in troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters—ensuring rapid resolution of issues
• Familiarity with industrial maintenance standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements
• This is an OEM position (Overtime Eligible Manager)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
