Kitchen Stewards must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Requires good communication skills.
  • Assist culinary staff during any special request or priorities as requested by the Executive Chef or the Chef de Cuisine.
  • Clean, transport and store all pots and pans used in the food and beverage operations and maintain the pots and pans room in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Requires valid and active Food Handler Certification (this can be provided to you)

Essential Functions

AVERAGE % OF TIME:

50 % Clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots and pans in the hotel.

25 % Ensure restaurant and banquet kitchens have the requisite amounts of the above to properly open their shifts and that there are sufficient Queen Mary’s and racks in which to place dirty dishes, silver, pots, and pans.

25 % Responsible for the proper sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, preparation slicers, steam kettles, tables and floors.

QUALIFICATION/STANDARDS

  • High School completion OR an equivalent level of education and experience.

Funciones Esenciales

PORCENTAJE PROMEDIO DE TIEMPO:

25 % Asegurar que las cocinas de restaurante y banquetes cuenten con las cantidades necesarias de lo anterior para iniciar correctamente sus turnos, y que haya suficientes carros (Queen Mary’s) y rejillas para colocar platos, cubiertos, ollas y sartenes sucios.
