Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, family, and behavioral therapy sessions using approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART therapy), art therapy, play therapy, dance therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and other evidence-based modalities.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent situations effectively, ensuring client safety and stabilization.
- Provide specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology for clarity and consistency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts to support client progress across inpatient, outpatient, or clinic settings.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to enhance treatment efficacy and contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions, ensuring seamless access to mental health services regardless of location.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to ICD coding updates, CPT coding for billing purposes, social work practices, psychopharmacology considerations, and special education strategies.
- Manage patient care through behavioral management techniques and social work principles to foster positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and referral partners as needed
- Participate in occasional team meetings and practice initiatives
Qualifications
- Active licensure as a Licensed Therapist or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with appropriate WV state credentials.
- Proven experience delivering psychotherapy across diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques within clinical settings.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnosis documentation and billing processes.
- Prior telehealth experience preferred but not required; must be comfortable utilizing virtual platforms for client sessions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to behavioral health and mental health counseling is highly desirable.
- Background in outpatient or clinic environments with exposure to inpatient settings is advantageous.
