What you'll do
- Rebuild Pouring Ladles per procedures for next heat
- Set the stopper rod in the ladle and checks for fit
- Hold the transfer ladle steady with a long rod while the heat is being tapped from the furnace
- Collect a sample of metal from the ladle to be analyzed by the lab
- Roll the ladle over to pour the molten metal into the AOD vessel
- Pour molten metal from ladle to molds
- Maintain the condition of the transfer ladle by chipping the solidified slag
- Inspect ladle condition prior to and after use
- Ensure work area is clean and free of any hazards
- Input and maintain process and pouring records
- Participate in lean initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Kaizen)
- Participate in all Safety, Health and Environmental programs (WHZ, 6S, etc.)
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you'll bring
Must-haves:
- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to work safely around hot metal, welding, and plasma cutting operations.
- Good work ethic, good attendance record and a positive attitude
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety policies and procedures
