Summary:
The Webb Schools is accepting applications for a full-time counselor position for the 2026-27 school year. Counselors at The Webb Schools are involved in shaping a healthy and vibrant community by providing and coordinating counseling services, developing and teaching proactive health programming, developing student leaders who share a commitment to community health, guiding adults to support the learning and emotional needs of students, participation in the afternoon program, serving as an advisor, and supporting the residential program. Counselors are a key element in supporting an inclusive campus community that promotes the development of honor, leadership, and character and which strives to cultivate a sense of belonging for all.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The institutional character of the boarding school environment requires that many job responsibilities are scheduled after formal class time. Work hours vary and may include days, nights, and weekends to serve the institutional needs of a boarding environment. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Work with health staff to ensure the health and safety of all students.
- Provide social-emotional counseling and learning/education support to individual students.
- Serve as a first point of contact and manage documentation for child protection concerns.
- Serve as the school liaison to community mental health providers.
- Support the work of Webb’s learning support team to develop and teach learning and thinking skills associated with executive functions – organization, planning, time management, active reading, writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate in the ongoing development and implementation of a holistic advisory program, health education, and related psycho-social programming.
- Support student leaders, serving as peer advisors, in the development and implementation of student-led health programming.
- Serve as advisor for a group of 6-9 students, providing guidance in academic, extracurricular, social, and personal areas, and serve as the school’s key liaison to parents.
- Coordinate faculty training on topics determined by the administrative team and support the work of faculty and staff in guiding student development.
- Work with parents to support the efforts of the faculty and staff of the Webb Schools on behalf of their students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
- Experience: Graduate‑level practicum and internship experience providing counseling services, including supervised direct client contact.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: one to three years’ experience as a school counseling, mental health counseling, school psychology, or social work or experience in a school setting with an adolescent population.
Other Requirements:
- A criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can begin.
- A valid California driver license with a satisfactory driving record is required.

Compensation & Benefits
The estimated pay scale represents the typical pay range The Webb Schools reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale applies to the current posting only.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
