We're looking for a friendly, organized, and proactive Shift Lead to be the face of our space and ensure every guest has a seamless and enjoyable experience.The PositionThe Shift Lead is an integral part of the team, acting as a leader when it comes to guest experience, food safety, cash-handling, and opening and closing procedures. Shift Leads are cross-trained to perform all functions of the Counter Server and Barista, in addition to daily responsibilities for opening and closing.The Weather Room offers full-time employees health insurance, Paid Time Off, free coffee, and much more! Key ResponsibilitiesComplete daily opening and/or closing duties.Engage in direct customer service to ensure accurate, timely preparation of a food or beverage order.Maintain knowledge of all menu items, their ingredients, and preparation methods.Maintain knowledge of all beverage items, including beer, wine, and cocktails, and have the ability to prepare beverages based on house recipes.Facilitate customer purchases by issuing register transactions and processing payments by cash and credit card.Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards within the workspace at all times.Maintain a willing attitude to go above and beyond to please all our guests. Work well with co-workers in a way that builds effective team spirit. Provide accurate, friendly, and efficient customer service.Communicate inventory and ordering needs to management clearly and accurately.Inform supervisor on duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations. Train all new Counter Team employees on daily responsibilities, Point of Sale, and food and beverage preparation.Communicate effectively with Manager on Duty during opening and closing, and throughout the shift as important updates arise.Prepare the cash drop each day at the close of service.Recognize important guests, taking the lead on their service experience and collecting feedback. Oversee daily flow of service, support and cover meal periods for Counter Team, and encourage team efficiency and productivity throughout the shift.Completes other duties as assigned by management. Work Experience & Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.2 years’ experience in food service and/or customer service.Familiarity with Toast POS system preferred.NYC Food Handlers Certificate required within 60 days of hire.Essential Functions and Physical DemandsThis job requires meeting specific physical demands to perform essential duties effectively.
