Position Summary
The Controller will oversee all financial operations for multiple small business entities, ensuring accurate reporting, sound financial controls, and strategic insight to support decision-making. This role requires a CPA designation and proven small business accounting experience to manage the complexities and nuances of multi-entity operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting for multiple small business entities, including AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each business.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis across entities.
- Coordinate and prepare for annual audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Implement and optimize accounting software, tools, and processes for efficiency.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to ownership and management teams to support strategic decisions.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff or outsourced bookkeeping teams.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required (active license preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in small business environments.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax compliance for small businesses.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Chempax, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with owners, managers, and external partners.
- Proven ability to adapt quickly, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
