Responsibilities
- Perform floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to maintain pristine floor surfaces.
- Handle various cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and floor scrubbers efficiently and safely.
- Mix and apply floor cleaning chemicals and floor care products according to safety guidelines.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks involving janitorial supplies, equipment, or furniture as needed.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all areas, including restrooms, hallways, offices, and common spaces.
- Follow safety procedures for chemical agent handling and manual handling to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to cleaning requests or concerns from staff or visitors.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred; janitorial experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning chemicals, floor waxing, buffing, and floor refinishing techniques.
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects regularly.
- Familiarity with environmental services standards and best practices for sanitation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure thorough cleaning routines.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and responding to requests.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
