The Washington Times is seeking an ambitious, energetic and experienced National Security reporter with solid news judgment and an ability to produce a steady stream of exclusive stories about technology as it relates to defense, military, national security and international security affairs.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of technology, national security and foreign policy in order to identify and break exclusive stories in Washington, nationally and worldwide. In particular, we are looking for a reporter with knowledge and interest about artificial intelligence, propaganda and hacking as they relate to national security and foreign policy. The candidate must have the flexibility to contribute stories outside their regular beat. Travel may be required. Evening, weekend and holiday hours will be required.
The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelors degree in Journalism, communications or Political Science preferred. Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience covering national security, foreign policy or the military. A strong, fast writer who can quickly file stories to the website and newsletter and develop them for the next day’s newspaper.
