The Washington House is hiring experienced bartender/servers to join our team. This position will consist of a mixture of bartending, serving and private party shifts. The staff at the Washington House take pride in offering caring, knowledgeable hospitality and excellent food in a high energy, positive work environment. We are looking for hospitality professionals who have a sincere desire to make people happy and lie being part of a hardworking team. All of our employees work weekdays and weekends, and a combination of lunch and dinner shifts.
Responsibilities:
* Engage with each customer to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
*Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage menus and special events
*Set up properly to ensure maximum efficiency when busy
*Take beverage and food orders and enter into POS accurately
*Create drinks following house recipes and measures
*Follow all restaurant protocols for "Washington House" service
*Look for positive solutions to inevitable difficult situations
*Prepare checks and collect payment from guests
*Clean and sanitize appropriate areas in dining room and bar area to make sure each shift starts with a clean work space
*Work cooperatively with all front of house, back of house, hotel and theater staff to maintain a positive work environment at all times
Requirements:
*Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast paced environment
*Availability to work varied hours/days
*Reliable transportation to and from work
*Ability to lift and carry heavy plates, boxes and dining room tables and chairs when necessary
*Experience with building drinks, tending bar, maintaining a clean, well stocked, and efficient work area
