What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Laundromat Operations Attendant position at The Wash Room?
The Wash Room is looking for a dependable, responsible and self-motivated person to help operate our Le Roy laundromat and launch our Wash & Fold service.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a business clean and organized, enjoys helping customers, and can work independently without constant supervision.
Responsibilities include:
Providing friendly customer service
Keeping the laundromat clean and organized throughout the shift
Cleaning washers, dryers, folding tables and floors
Checking and cleaning dryer lint screens
Processing Wash & Fold orders from drop-off through completion
Washing, drying, folding, packaging and organizing customer laundry
Using our computerized Wash & Fold/POS system
Assisting customers with machines, payment systems and the Speed Queen app
Stocking and selling laundry products
Monitoring supplies and inventory
Performing routine machine and facility checks
Immediately reporting leaks, equipment problems, damage or unusual activity
Following daily opening, cleaning and closing checklists
What We're Looking For
Reliability is extremely important for this position.
The right person will:
Arrive on time for every scheduled shift
Be comfortable working independently
Complete assigned responsibilities without constant supervision
Have strong attention to detail
Keep the facility exceptionally clean
Communicate promptly when there is a problem
Treat customers and their belongings professionally
Be comfortable using a smartphone, tablet and basic computer systems
Previous laundromat experience is not required. Experience in customer service, housekeeping, hospitality, retail or a similar position is helpful.
Applicants must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, bending/reaching regularly, and lifting and handling bags and baskets of laundry.
Schedule
Approximately 20 hours per week initially, with the possibility of additional hours as our Wash & Fold business grows.
Availability during daytime hours and some weekends is preferred.
Pay
$17–$19 per hour, depending on experience.
