Purpose of the Role
The Director of Warehouse Operations is responsible for leading all warehouse and 3PL activities at the Carthage site. This includes operational strategy, performance metrics, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across internal and external warehousing operations. The director ensures daily execution meets company standards while developing long-term systems that improve efficiency, accuracy, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
- Provide daily leadership presence in the Carthage warehouse.
- Manage and develop the TWC management team, ensuring clear alignment on priorities and accountability.
- Set performance standards for accuracy, fulfillment timeliness, and safety across all shifts.
Operational Excellence
- Drive KPI improvement across order accuracy, inventory integrity, and on-time shipments.
- Oversee labor planning, space utilization, and workflow optimization.
- Implement SOPs, visual controls, and warehouse processes that standardize performance.
- Partner with Logistics and Procurement to streamline inbound and outbound freight efficiency.
3PL Management
- Oversee account setup, pricing adherence, billing accuracy, and service performance.
- Develop account-specific scorecards and performance reviews to ensure customer satisfaction and contract compliance.
Systems & Process Development
- Champion system utilization (NetSuite, ShipHawk WMS/TMS, Bloom) for visibility and accountability.
- Identify opportunities to automate or simplify workflows through technology.
- Maintain data integrity across all warehouse and customer transactions.
Financial & Strategic Management
- Support rate development, cost analysis, and pricing models for 3PL services.
- Participate in long-term capacity planning and site development initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7 years of warehouse or 3PL operations experience, with 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in process improvement, KPI management, and team development.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Experience managing customer relationships and service-level agreements.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make business decisions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
