Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, adhering to quality standards and food safety guidelines
- Assist customers in selecting books and merchandise, providing personalized recommendations to enhance their experience
- Operate POS system to process drink and retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling, beverage preparation stations, and seating areas, ensuring a hygienic environment at all times
- Manage cash handling duties by processing cash transactions
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and creating a friendly atmosphere
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies, organizing shelves, and assisting with product displays
Skills
- Food Handlers Certification must be obtained by employee prior to first working day.
- Strong math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing sales totals confidently
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse patrons
- Effective time management to prioritize tasks during busy periods while maintaining quality standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in food safety and cleanliness standards
