Job Overview
The Wallace Group, Inc., is a Bend, Oregon based multi-disciplinary science and engineering firm that provides geotechnical, environmental, special inspection and construction materials testing services to commercial, industrial, governmental, and institutional clients throughout the Pacific Northwest (www.wallacegroup-inc.com). The firm is seeking applicants for a Lab Technician and driver who is interested in starting their career in the construction service industry. The position will be based in Wallace Group’s American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)-accredited office and laboratory in Bend.
We are looking for candidates with good interpersonal and organizational skills and the willingness to learn. This position performs routine laboratory tests for the purpose of verifying conformance to construction plans and specifications. In addition, the driver will be responsible for safely driving onto project construction sites to pick up and transport soil samples and concrete cylinders from the site to the Wallace Group laboratory. This position will maintain records of materials and complete logs.
A valid Oregon Driver’s License is required to operate company or personal vehicles, and the driver must follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local and state driving laws and regulations. The driver must keep the company vehicle clean and alert supervisor of repair and/or service needed.
Compensation is negotiable, based upon experience. Pay range $18.00- $24.00 per hour. Includes Paid Time Off and Sick Leave.
This is a Part Time position, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Hours will vary but will primarily be between 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (Monday-Friday) and some Saturdays.
