Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. We are a construction company and experience in construction Bookkeeping is required. Duties
- Record and process all journal entries, including debits & credits, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
- Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify financial data integrity.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile balance sheets and perform general ledger reconciliation regularly to maintain precise financial records.
- Utilize accounting software QuickBooks, to manage transactions efficiently.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including budgets, financial statements, and audit documentation aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations; handle tax experience related tasks as needed.
- Conduct governmental accounting tasks when applicable, ensuring adherence to public sector standards.
- Assist with year-end closing procedures, account analysis, and internal audits to support organizational transparency.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within corporate or non-profit settings.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, GAAP standards, and financial concepts.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks.
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting accurately.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and public accounting procedures is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes, payroll management, tax experience, and budgeting skills.
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry; strong attention to detail for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly through financial report writing and documentation skills.
