Job Summary
Join our healthcare team, at The Walker House AFH, as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). As a caregiver, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care to our 6 residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will support individuals with memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s and dementia, as well as seniors requiring specialized care. We want to provide a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and other health-related observations accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, memory care, behavioral health challenges, and mobility assistance utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques, safe lifting practices, and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical documentation systems while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in patient transfer methods safely using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injury.
- Basic cleaning
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks.
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; additional experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred. Or valid HCA.
- Strong communication skills for caregiver interactions and teamwork within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary while following safe lifting practices; physical stamina for long shifts is essential.
