Information Technology Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technology Support & Help Desk

• Monitor and respond to incoming technology support requests submitted through school forms, email, or other communication systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for staff and students.
• Prioritize support requests according to established school priorities.
• Maintain repair logs, service records, and technology maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate external repairs or vendor support when necessary.

Technical Support & Staff Coaching

• Provide technical support and coaching to teachers and staff regarding school technology systems, devices, and instructional technology tools.
• Assist staff with basic troubleshooting and effective use of classroom technology.
• Support staff with device setup, account access, printing, presentations, and other technology-related needs.
• Provide guidance on best practices for device care, technology use, and digital organization.
• Support staff during the implementation of new technology systems or updates.

Network & Internet Systems

• Monitor and maintain wireless internet networks and related systems.
• Consult with engineers on network infrastructure and design for new buildings and campuses.4
• In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure and cabling standards.
• Support the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of firewalls and internet infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot internet outages and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate with internet service providers and outside vendors as needed.

Device Management

• Manage Apple purchases and software through[a] Apple School Manager.
• Support Chromebook and PC management systems, including deployment, configuration, updates,

and user support using Mosyle and Google Suite for Education Admin.

• Maintain accurate inventory records for student and staff devices.
• Prepare, configure, distribute, and collect devices as needed.

Chromebook & Equipment Maintenance

• Perform minor Chromebook repairs and maintenance, including screen, keyboard, charging, and

software-related issues.

• Set up, organize, maintain, and troubleshoot charging carts and charging systems.
• Ensure devices are updated, labeled, and functioning properly.

Peripheral & Classroom Technology Support

• Support and troubleshoot classroom and office technology, including: Windows and Apple devices
• Printers
• TVs and display systems
• Elmo/document cameras
• Projectors
• Other peripheral devices
• Assist staff with setup and operational support for classroom technology and presentations.

Budgeting, Inventory & Documentation

• Assist with researching and identifying uniform hardware and software standards.
• Monitor and update technology inventory records.
• Track device assignments, repairs, replacements, and disposals.
• Maintain organized records of warranties, repairs, and technology assets.
• Assist with annual inventory, reporting reviews, and audits.

Familiarity with the Administration of Particular Systems

• Sonicwall Firewall
• Ubiquiti Networks
• Mosyle Mobile Device Manager
• Apple School Manager
• G-Suite for Education

Priority of Responsibilities

The IT Manager will prioritize technology support needs in the following order:

1. Internet outages and network connectivity issues

2. Student and staff devices, including computer labs

3. Printers and peripheral devices

Qualifications

• Certifications including A , Network , and Security (Microsoft Certified Professional minimum preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Computer Information System (BSCS CIS) degree preferred. Operational experience or equivalent years of experience accepted.
• Experience supporting network infrastructure, wireless networks, internet systems, and firewalls.
• Experience managing Apple, Chromebook, and Windows devices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete minor hardware repairs.
• Knowledge of classroom technology and peripheral devices.
• Ability to provide technical coaching and support to staff with varying levels of technology experience.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience working in educational settings preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move technology equipment and charging carts up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work under desks, in classrooms, and in server/network areas.
• Ability to transport devices and equipment across campus.

Work Environment

This position works across three school campuses in Volcano and Mt. View, including classrooms, offices, outdoor areas, and technology storage areas. The IT Manager may be required to respond to urgent technology issues during school hours.

Pay: $59,057.20 - $71,122.64 per year
